All of the charities bags used by Intersecond Ltd for its second hand clothes collections are designed to provide clear information to the householder to tell them exactly what the bag collection is for. We want to make sure people know that their clothing donations will only be used to fund worthwhile, bona fide charities.
Intersecond Ltd works with charities organizations to get the wording exactly right and then we handle all the printing, production, delivery and collection of the charities bags. This means that the charities does not need to spend precious time and resources on its bag collections but it can still benefit from the profits that they bring in.
As part of our commitment to the environment, we are using environment friendly biodegradable plastic bags for the Do Not Delay! and Mercy Ships projects collections. These bags are made of plastics which decompose in landfill in approximately 24 months leaving a non-toxic residue.
Sadly, fake organisations that collect second hand clothing have become a real problem. In the UK, we deal with this by only using printed charities bags – as plastic bags are much harder to forge.
We also display the design of the text printed on all our bags so that members of the public can check that the bags they have been given for second hand clothes are really from us.
If people are still worried, or doubt the authenticity of bags they have been given, we are always happy to provide reassurance by phone or email.
